Retreat Title: Compassion and Emptiness

Led by Led by Tejananda

Goodwill, the essence of ethical practice and community living, can take us right into the heart of anatta, the universal mark of no-self. And when we notice the universal mark of dukkha (suffering), the same goodwill can flower in deep compassion.
This retreat offers several new perspectives on the meditation practices of goodwill, compassion, appreciative joy and equanimity. The well-known method of five or more stages, coming from the fifth century commentary of Buddhaghosa, is really a preparation for the radically simple method of radiation the Buddha recommended, according to the Pali teachings. It is also a way gradually to enter different kinds of absorption states and emptiness, which we will be exploring. Getting to know one another, the retreat will become a cooperative community as appreciation, help and empathy emerge from the practices.

This retreat is suitable for people who have been meditating for at least 3 years
